My Week (8/8 - 8/14)
Tuesday, August 16, 2005

This was a very busy week, where most plans got shifted, but other plans spontaneously happened.

I was pretty much tired out from the race on Saturday, then the practice/carwash/danforth combo on Sunday. So I didn't do much on Monday except swim. I was supposed to meet Laurie to chill with her, but that got moved to Friday.

Tuesday, I was supposed to go to a drive in movie. However, that got cancelled and so I went shopping instead. Mel was up for a Wednesday movie, so I watched Dark Water with her. The movie was too emotional and you felt so sorry for the character that the "horror" became secondary so it really wasn't that scary.

Wednesday, since I rescheduled my movie date with Mel to Tuesday, I went to paddle for University College's Waterdragons dragonboat team practice. Wow, they were pretty hardcore, pushing much harder than Swordfish. To start off practice, we did a 2000m race! Fortunately, I was able to keep up with them mostly thanks to my constant swimming.

Now here is where the pictures come in. The quality of pictures these days are a little lower as my dad's camera does not have manual options. I can't decide between getting an S70 (to replace my S30) or to get a Canon D350 dSLR with a 75/300 lens.

In any case, I went to meet my client on Thursday. Cafe Mirage was pretty cool and as he was late, I got to take the first artsy pictures with my dad's camera.

In the evening, Nicole called me to say she was bored. Also, because I was already in a photo taking trigger happy mood, I went down to Lakeshore to meet her and take some photographs. I do not have many pictures from there because they were taken with my old film Minolta 7000 Maxxum with a 100/200 lens.

Friday, I meet Laurie and we have an awesome dinner at this Malaysian restaurant! Her friends were cool to chill with as always, and they were rich too! My Civic could hardly keep up with their Z4 and S2000.

Finally, the long awaited Wasaga Beach event arrived. As a dragonboat team, we headed up north to Wasaga to stay at Haran's friend's cottage. Fun times! We evenwent all the way to Midland Ontario adding 1 hr to our trip to Wasaga thanks to my navigator, the other Dan.

Due to excessive spam, I have now moved my blog to http://dho.ca/wp. Please feel free to visit me there to comment!
