[dan feels in his bag .. can't find wallet]
Dan: Hold on a sec ...
[dan searches pockets, no wallet]
Dan: Nevermind, I'll be back

So I went home and got my wallet. Decided to WALK back since gas was $1.19 today! Besides, walking is a great way to enjoy life. Much in life is missed when you zoom zoom by places with your car.

Such would be the case with a lil West Highland Terrier today. As I was walking by someone's house in my neighbourhood, a side gate sprung open and here was this cute lil white dog charging at me! Of course, I could not resist but to bend down and pet it. That was when I realized it had no collar and no owner.

Resisting the urge to claim the dog for my own, I walked up to the house and rang the doorbell. I stood and waited but there was no answer. Of course, I couldn't let the poor dog wander all on it's own in this neighbourhood! So I followed the dog and walked with her up and down the street, stopping once again at the house when we passed it to ring a doorbell.

Finally, 10 minutes later, some woman runs out of her house looking for her poor little dog. It seems that she had started cooking and forgotten to close the gate! She did hear my doorbell attempts but chose to ignore them in favour of cooking up a storm. Silly woman, she almost lost her dog! All is well and I didn't even get to know the dog's name .. :(
