The Christmas Week

My Christmas Week has been really busy, starting at 0400h on Boxing day.

Boxing Day

I shot some people who were brave enough to camp out for hours in the cold for a few great deals. I, for one, decided I’d make some moola instead of spending it on that day. The scene at Square One was just as hectic with shoppers looking for the best deals, mostly in clothing.

A whole bunch of free skating events made up a part of my shooting duties for the week.

Atkinson Family Skate

Then Linus Entertainment bought over one of the oldest independent Canadian owned record labels, True North Records, so I got to meet the man behind the deal, Geoff Kulawick.

And to top off my week so far, more hockey shooting. I almost lost some of my equipment as the puck actually came into the stands about 10 feet away from where I was standing, on the second level. I was kinda worried that if it hit where I was, some cool equipment would be reduced to landfill. Fortunately, that did not happen again.

Of course the week was not all work. Opening gifts with family was a part of the celebrations

Presents!

As was dinner with one of my dragonboat teams.

So that’s my life update in photos for the week. :)

Diane Clemons

The Christmas Reunion

Mississauga, ON, December 23, 2007 – Diane Clemons sings “Mary did you Know” at the beginning of The Christmas Reunion. The play produced by the Kingdom House Christian Centre, strongly resembled the life of Clemons. Clemons, who sung at the beginning of the production, is the wife of Mike “Pinball” Clemons, of Toronto Argonaut Football fame. Photo by Daniel Ho.

Merry Happy Holidays Christmas New Year Whatever

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, Happy Holidays, Seasons Greetings! Whatever the politically correct wishes may be, I hope this will be a time of the year with lots of quality time spent with your friends and loved ones!

Mary did you know?

I was just working a christmas play where Dianne Clemons, wife of Pin Ball Clemons of Argo fame, was singing this song and it is stuck in my head.

Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy would one day walk on water?
Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy would save our sons and daughters?
Did you know
that your Baby Boy has come to make you new?
This Child that you delivered will soon deliver you.

Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy will give sight to a blind man?
Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy will calm the storm with His hand?
Did you know
that your Baby Boy has walked where angels trod?
When you kiss your little Baby you kissed the face of God?

Mary did you know.. Ooo Ooo Ooo

The blind will see.
The deaf will hear.
The dead will live again.
The lame will leap.
The dumb will speak
The praises of The Lamb.

Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy is Lord of all creation?
Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy will one day rule the nations?
Did you know
that your Baby Boy is heaven’s perfect Lamb?
The sleeping Child you’re holding is the Great, I Am.

Mississauga Classic Love

Classic Love Concert

Marshall Thompson of the Chi-lites sings to the audience.

The concert I just shot was SIX hours! I guess I was pretty entertained for the six hours, so aside from muscle soreness, probably due to dehydration, I got to watch the Chi-lites, Delfonics, Billy Paul, Carl Henry, Liberty Silver, Steele, as well as a few Canadian talents: Liberty Silver, Jassette Haughton, Jakki James, Carl Henry and Steele. It was hosted by Luther Brown.

Dan: Do you know Luther Brown from DoDat entertainment?
Luther: He’s my son.
* Dan feels so noob. =P

I met Kim at Starbucks recently and she asked me what makes me happy. I couldn’t really answer it. However, I can say that while it might not bring true complete total happiness, reggae music does get my body moving and provide an escape from any troubles I might have!

Quote: History

“Not knowing history is to not have a compass on events. It’s like being in the middle of an ongoing conversation and not know what anybody has been saying.”
Caroline Myss

It is so true. How can you make future plans without knowing what happened in the past? Without knowing what truly happened in the past, your future decisions could make a situation worse simply because your ’solution’ is a part of what actually caused the problem.

Angela: You ask too many questions.
Dan (me): I know. I’m a journalist, that’s what I do.
