Frozen Ride

Frozen RIde

I came across this jeep while I was heading to an assignment. Judging from the amount of snow inside the jeep, it couldn’t have been there more than 48 hours or whenever the last snowfall was. I can’t imagine anyone driving that jeep around in winter! It’s freezing cold walking around, and I can imagine it to be much worse if they are driving around with no doors!

globeandmail.com: A setback for Israel, a calamity for the Palestinians

The opportunity for the Palestinians was clear. If their leaders could maintain a minimum of order in Gaza and prevent it from becoming a base for attacks on the Jewish state, Israel would gain the confidence to take the next step: withdrawal from the West Bank, home to the majority of Palestinians. As Mr. Sharon said at the time, “it is the Palestinians’ turn.” Gaza was to be the proving ground for the future Palestinian state. The withdrawal was a trial of their willingness and ability to become responsible neighbours.

They have failed with flying colours.

This is an interesting article that somewhat supports the Israeli bombings of Gaza. Our federal government in Canada supports Israel’s right to defend itself.

Ironically, I covered a Palestinian protest today too. I feel for both sides. I understand Israel’s need for security, yet also sympathize with the Palestinian people and their hardships.

However, as if to illustrate the fact that groups that claim to fight for the people certainly have their own hidden agendas, rockets were fired into Israel from the north today.

If you know rocket fire into Israel provokes the bombing of the people, why were more rockets fired?

I also must state I’m not impressed by Israel’s attacking UN aid convoy trucks.

Canon G10 and more …

I want to shoot an autodocumentary. Kinda like a photo autobiography. But much of my life is routine and when I’m at work, I’m shooting for work so it is hard to shoot my autobiography there. I’ve been shooting a lot of stuff w/ my G10 when I’m not shooting for assignments. However, my photo standards are getting so high, that really most shots are somewhat uninteresting to me. That is, I am getting very picky about my photo selection. Especially since most things in my life are routine.

For example people post lots of great food shots. I’ve taken some food shots, but it seems that unless it documents life in it, I’m beginning to find pictures uninteresting, not worthy of posting.

Sooo … here are mine from work .. ‘cuz that’s all about life :P

Rejection!

Here’s a kid getting rejected as he goes up for a shot or layup.

Sudbury Wolves at Majors

I can’t believe they traded Zac Rinaldo. He was one of the most energetic guys on the team. From a photographer’s perspective, some days, the Majors seem like they are asleep and there was nothing to shoot, then Rinaldo will throw a couple of big hits to wake everyone up.

Sudbury Wolves at Majors

I only take the originals. This kid, Jake Springstead, was cheering for the Majors and I caught this expression. After getting his details, the other kids found out I was shooting for the News and cheered every so often taking a glance at me to see if I was taking their picture. No. I only take the original, naturals. =P And he’s now famous in the city as he’s front page in today’s issue.

Ok, found two non-work photos that might be worthy of posting.

Too much Snow

While snow is good, there really is too much snow this winter.

Chilling with Friends

And more chilling … it’s tough to make chilling shots artsy, getting something more than just a snapshot, while not setting anything up.

Yet it is quite a part of this photo autobiography.
