One of the tourist attractions in Singapore is its aviary the Jurong Bird Park. This sanctuary for birds featured a large variety of our feathered friends and claims to be the largest in the world.

Opened in 1971, Jurong Bird Park is the largest bird park in the world, offering a 20.2-hectare hillside haven for 8,000 birds representing 600 species

One of the highlights of our trip was having Anna hold a vulture in her hand during the Birds of Prey show. From the Brahminy Kites, to Owls and even a hawk, the show was high energy and kept us on our toes. Especially when they had the Kites try to steal meat from the host. You never knew where the birds were coming from and they were flying really close to your head.

In the owl display, we saw this bird that could’ve come right out of the Lord of the Rings! Great Grey Owls are spooky!

And one of the cutest owls with the cutest sounding name: Boobuk owl.

Even my baby cousin thought he was cute!

It was kinda hard taking photos in the dark, especially with only a point and shoot. However, good timing, learning to work with the shutter lag as well as plain luck enabled me to capture some of these owl shots.

I have returned to lagging on my blog posts, but for good reason. I’ve been famjamming when I haven’t been out exploring. Heading to the “rest of Asia” this Thursday!
