After dropping Sally off at the bus terminal, I finally re-booked my flight back to Singapore for June 9th and decided to go on my first exploratory trip.

I picked danshui, the northernmost stop on the MRT line.

This small fishing town was bustling with life and great food. I think it was pretty much a tourist attraction.

While I was there, I manged to get in on some local festival. Apparently, it was the birthday of Ma Tzu, the goddess of the sea. Being a coastal town relying on fishing, the townspeople threw the goddess a birthday party in the hopes that she would bless them with good fishing harvest.

Finally making it to fisherman’s wharf on foot, I found a beautiful boardwalk and a great scene of the Taiwanese sunset. A beautiful bridge, live music and a cool sea breeze topped off a nice chilling evening.

Off in the distance, the land of Bali which I chose to skip in favour of watching the sunset. Perhaps I will head on the boat to the other side another day.

I also met some taiji practicioners who were doing push hands. The fajing of one of the practitioners was amazing!
