I have yet to blog about the Taroko gorge, Mukumuyu, Colorful Taiwan Hostel and all the splendours of Hualien. Yet today, I had what can be considered the best part of my trip so far in Taiwan.

Kenting seemed just like any other beach resort town. Nice long strech of beaches, with umbrellas dotting the sand and jetskis carving their way throught the water pretty much summed up the beach area.

Fortunately, I had already rented a scooter for my trip across Hualien and I realized how much fun it was exploring a city via scooter. For Kenting, I decided to do the same, despite the room prices and scooter prices being almost double what they had been in Hualien.

I woke up in the morning and decided to scooter across the coastline. Bara decided she wanted to join me on the scooter trip and left Kaya to surf. What we encountered was far beyond our expectation.

After rounding the southern most tip of the island, we proceeded up the east coast. The view and landscape was gorgeous!

At one of the stops, we agreed that the Lord of the Rings movie could’ve easily been shot in Taiwan instead of New Zealand. Bright copper sand, clear blue skys and green grass dotting the landscape, along with peaceful soundless venues gave the impression of setting foot on a whole new world.

If you’re going to view a country, I suggest doing it on a motorcycle or a scooter. While I do love public transit in Asia, this new mode of exploration is going to be the norm for me.

Hahahaha, that’s why they didn’t wanna rent to people who were outside of Taiwan! I had never been on a scooter for years … actually, not a bicycle either … but I learn fast and was on the mountains a couple of hours after I rented one.

My “crash” if I had one, would’ve been tumbling a few hundred meters down the mountain. LoL

I’m glad you’re ok though! I met this other girl who crashed in Thailand. She had some pretty bad lacerations on her foot! :(

Did you learn to ride a scooter there, or you already knew how to ride one? I tried riding one in Phnom Penh and almost crashed into a wall and wedding party, LOL.
