With the clicks of your heels …
Today was the first time I had set foot on US soil in years. Contrary to the stories of rude border guards, we had a decent experience.
The guard who met my family at the drive thru was polite and joking around with us. However, we ended up being escorted from our vehicle and into the guard house. It was rather expected as it was also one of the first times Jon had set foot on United States soil. Being Malaysian, he had to face a stern border guard who guided him through the process.
After the process however, Jon noted that the stern guard suddenly became friendly and encouraged him to “study hard”.
It was pretty sad goodbyes, at least on my part. These past ten days have been a sort of extension of my asian trip. All the good times I had in Malaysia with the cousins spilled over these few days as I got to relive that portion of the trip. Place seems a lot quieter now that they are off to school.
I would be lying if I said life is ready to continue the way it was when I left the country in April. Life changes and four months later, I still have the same goals, but the path to them has dramatically changed.
I have enjoyed taking pictures with my cellphone lately. Notably, with the retroCamera Android app. So here are some pictures for the past few days that I shared with my cousins.
