Takeoff …
A seagull makes its way across the pond at Nathan Phillips Square.Just had to add something to spice up the front page. Did not have my SLR zoom on me, so this is captured with my S90.
Every once in a while, I lament the absence of my SLRs or a particular lens. With the right timing, great knowledge of your gear and a little luck, you can get pictures that rival the SLRs.
This shot for example, is manual focused “to infinity” on my S90. I just had to slow down the shutter and try to pan blur the bird to make up for the lack of shallow depth-of-field ability of the point and shots. I guesstimated at my shutter lag and tried to account for it. The little luck being the wings were spread in an aesthetically pleasing manner.
Lately, I have also been shooting with my cell phone camera and especially enjoying the retroCam app on my Android phone.
