Randomness: China’s hospital ship, Shakespeare Manga, more …
Shakespeare Manga
These books are pretty well illustrated. I wonder if they’ll have a whole Shakespeare anime based on his different plays. Maybe I should buy one of these. :)
China’s Hospital Ship
Apparently, China has created its own hospital ship. It does give its military a lot more mobility in Asia and also provides it with the capability to offer foreign aid. There is suspicion about its motives, but hey, give it some time, maybe it won’t be all about politics. Besides, another giant aid ship on the planet from one of the world’s economic giants can’t be all that bad.
… and meeting satellites
China also made headlines today for having two of it’s satellites possibly nudge each other. The two practice spacecraft, SJ-06F and SJ-12, apparently had a very close encounter, after which SJ-06F was confirmed to have moved slightly off course.
The article points out that such technology has two purposes. First, it could be used to further co-operation in space by docking at a space station. The second, could be for military purposes such as taking out an enemy satellite.
Must be a little unnerving to know that yet another foreign power has such technology.
I really want to be in Asia right now. It’s the place to be. If the USA was the New World and the second coming of civilization, then Asia is going to be the third.
Wongfu’s Newest Short
Wongfu’s latest short film is pretty entertaining. This one is for the Cancer Society. It’s called the Allergy.
Long Distance relationship … so long it’s in another world!
Japanese can now work on long distance relationships … by transporting themselves to the virtual realm and date a virtual girl.
I champion that thought! More should venture into that realm in my opinion. I’ll just happen to drop by the beach and be the only guy there along with all the other real life women.
My computer is made from Cashew Nuts!
One other thing I do champion is bio- or green- anything. NEC apparently has created new bio plastics from cashew nut husks. Apparently it takes 1000 years for plastic to degrade. Perhaps this new bio plastic will degrade faster?
Bio-plastics have been gathering greater attention as an alternative to traditional petroleum-based plastics which contribute to global warming and environmental pollution. However previously developed bio-plastics have used food sources in their production, sparking fears over the possibility of future food shortages.
I wonder if this could mean the eradication of the $0.05 we have to pay for plastic bags to deter its use. If the surcharge stays, it just proves it was a cash grab all along.
Mozilla’s entry into mobile browsing
I do love my Chrome browser on my Mac. I use it over Firefox every day, well, except when I need to use Firebug. However, I might be open to using Firefox … oops, i meant Fennec … on Android. Lack of plugins such as xmarks on Android has me unimpressed.
Not going to install the nightly APK builds just yet. Too many betas on my phone. Still waiting for my TweetDeck release!
Oh yeah, they also did brain surgery 4000 years ago! How’s that for human smartness. Apparently that long ago, we as a human race were still battling cancer.
