Lamb Shanks from Boffo's Deli.

Having said that, this is one shot that was taken from a series from work today.

This was one of the few times I actually brought a light kit with me. As my 5D mk II is superb in low light, I’ve been shooting almost everything with it except for sports.

We talked about using “available light” and then about using flash as that light is “available to you”. However, due to the 5D amazingness, you really can use “available light” to shoot. Such as in this example.

In fact, the lack of light affects the ability of the camera to focus before its ability to take usable pictures. Thus, I often really don’t need a flash, only using for effect rather than function.

I think I’m going to wear out my 5D long before my older 1D MkIIn wears out.

Talked to the deli guys about just what a lamb shank was and they mentioned the bones. So I tried to make them stand out.

I remembered missyeley.com and her food bloggers post. I felt like a food blogger.

The owner of Boffo’s Deli asked me if I liked meat. Said the previous photographer was vegetarian and didn’t appreciate meat too much. Oh if he only knew how much I loved meat.
