Buckyballs, Nanodots, 5 reasons for magnetic fun!
Top 5 reasons to play with magnetic spheres.
If it sometimes takes so much effort just to connect a few tiny magnetic spheres, how could life randomly form?
1. Lego for Adults!
You wouldn’t be caught dead playing Legos unless you’re with kids. Yet, the creativity of sticking blocks together compels you to build. With this, you can claim it’s a science experiment, a way of saving the world from itself, and not just a toy.
2. Life is hard!
Life is formed by a series of molecular bonds. These molecules have atoms with positive and negative poles and bond together through these magnetic forces. If it sometimes takes so much effort just to connect a few tiny magnetic spheres, how could life randomly form?
3. Impermanence
If the buddhists decide to go high tech, this would make a great replacement for the sand mandala. Formed in three dimensions, an errant magnet could cause the entire structure to implode on itself. Or not carefully removing a section could cause the structure to unravel like a string of ball magnets. These rare-earth permanent magnets could teach us a lesson about impermanence.
4. Strong fingers
I have a set of 6mm magnetic spheres and those are considerably stronger than this set of 5mm spheres. Still, trying to pry them apart does condition the tips of your fingers.
5. New paper weight every day
Tired of seeing the same paperweight on your desk each day? This bunch of magnets will solve the problem by morphing to a different desktop ornament every day. Challenge your employees to build something dynamic. Heck, if the co-worker comes in to complain about something, this gives you something to do instead of listening to the bugger complain.
In any case, I can’t stop playing w/ these magnetic toys … unless I’m in front of my cameras or computers. One of the most engaging toys I’ve bought in years. ;)
