Happy Valentine’s Day 2011
I see many people saying we should not observe Hallmark holidays. We should instead treat our loved ones like it’s Valentine’s Day or any special holiday, all year round! After all, if every day could be Christmas (or Valentine’s Day), what a wonderful world it would be.
While I definitely agree love is not a one day event, I think it is these special days that remind us that we should treat each other that way all year round. I don’t see people proclaiming how we should treat others like it’s Valentine’s Day … until it’s Valentine’s Day.
Love is about being there for one another when we need. Love is about lying down in the sand, counting the stars, just wasting time together and enjoying each other’s company. Not just on Valentine’s Day.
Love of course cannot be counted in dollars and cents.
Yet today, people will be spending $15.7 billion on that special someone. Imagine if we did that daily .. or even weekly? We would not be in a recession.
Show some love for the economy, your country and all the people your tax dollars benefit. Chill out and enjoy life a little this February 14th!
Happy Valentine’s Day!
