I didn't think global warming could cause earthquakes and I'm still on the fence about it, although the article I found on Live Science that I linked to above does make an interesting case about melting icebergs taking pressure away from the plates. While it is great food for thought and I'm not 100% convinced about it's validity, the world did move from Pangea to where we are today, through various different climates.
