This series contains non studio portraits and shot mostly with my phone or point and shoots.
I enjoy making photos with my phone as opposed to a “big camera”. Aside from sports action, where the fast focus and low shutter lag is important, I believe the phone, or my point and shoot, is an amazing device to capture portraits. Its small size renders it unobtrusive and the subject, used to taking selfies and having their photos taken almost daily by their closer circle of friends, feels more relaxed.
The confluence of light, elements of interest and an individual’s character are vastly more important in making a portrait than a “big” or “small” camera.
